What To Wear For Your confetti flower field Photoshoot | Cheltenham Family Photographer
Confetti flower season is honestly one of the most magical times of the year… and if you’ve ever been to The Real Flower Petal Confetti field at Wyke Manor in Wick, Pershore, you’ll know exactly what I mean. The colours, the light, the atmosphere, it’s just breathtaking. I’ve been photographing families here for the past 7 years, and every single year it completely wows me all over again.
And the most special part?
These flower fields are only open for a very short time each year – usually late June to early July. It’s such a rare and fleeting window, which makes having your photos taken here feel even more special.
So if you’re planning your session and wondering what to wear for your confetti flower field photoshoot, I’ve got you.
Keep It Light, Soft & Timeless
The confetti fields are full of colour, so the key is to keep your outfits soft and neutral so you stand out, not your clothes.
I always recommend starting with whites and creams as your base, they photograph beautifully in this setting and give that timeless, airy feel. From there, you can gently add in denim and soft pastel tones like blush, sage, light blue or lavender.
These colours work perfectly with the natural tones of the flowers and keep your gallery looking elegant and cohesive.
Go For Comfort (With a Touch of Style)
This is not about dressing up as someone else, your photos should feel like you.
You really can’t go wrong with something simple like:
Jeans and a white t-shirt
A soft cotton shirt and denim combo
A relaxed, casual outfit you feel good in
If the weather allows, a white linen dress looks absolutely stunning in the fields. It’s light, effortless and perfect for movement.
And if you’d like something a little more dressed up, a tulle dress or something slightly more “fancy” can add a beautiful, magical and dreamy feel to your family photos.
The most important thing?
Wear something that feels comfortable and true to you. That’s what makes the photos meaningful.
What To Avoid
To keep your images looking clean and timeless, I’d recommend avoiding:
Busy patterns
Large logos or bold graphics
Neon or very bright colours
They can be quite distracting and take attention away from what really matters, which is your emotions, connection and your family story.
That said, if this is your style and what you feel most comfortable in, absolutely wear it! Your photos should reflect who you are and capture this moment in time with your children, just as it truly feels.
Be Ready For British Weather
Let’s be honest… it’s the UK…
The weather can change quickly, so it’s always good to come prepared.
Think layers, bring a cardigan or jacket just in case, and sensible shoes for walking through the fields.
If it’s been raining, the field can get a little muddy, wellies are always a great idea, especially for little ones (and honestly, they can look quite cute in photos too!).
If there’s a chance of rain, bring an umbrella, we can still create something really beautiful and a bit different. And if the weather is kind to us, bringing a picnic blanket is a lovely touch. It gives us another relaxed setup and makes for some really natural, cosy moments in your gallery.
We’ll make it work whatever the weather, some of the most beautiful sessions happen in slightly unexpected conditions.
A Little Bit About The Experience
My sessions are relaxed and natural. We’ll wander through the fields, chat, let the children explore, and I’ll gently guide you when needed. There’s no pressure, no stiff posing, just a little guidance when needed and real moments, beautifully captured.
Whether you’re thinking about family, maternity, or baby photos, this location is honestly one of the most magical backdrops you could choose.
